Evacuation Plan
The town emergency service coordinator lead a discussion in cooperation with LAH, Los Altos, the county department of emergency services and others department to review the towns evacuation plan. This plan will be included as part of our safety element and our Local Hazard Mitigation Plan.

Cal OES Hazard Mitigation Grant Program
Town staff, with the help of resident Allan Epstein, submitted a Notice of Intent to apply (NOI) to California’s Office of Emergency Services Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. The proposed project would assist residents in creating a defensible space within their property and replacing old shake-roofs with class A roofs to mitigate against wildfires. If the Town’s project is selected to proceed to submit an application, staff will return to Council with more information.

Internship Program
This week Town staff began planning for a summer internship program for Los Altos Hills Town Hall. The Town intends to participate in Next Gen Silicon Valley’s internship program, which is a regional organization dedicated to attracting the future workforce of the public sector through internships and fellowships. The goal is to post job listings by March/April and onboard interns by May/June.

Meeting with the Town Hall Architect
Town staff met with the architect for the discontinued Phase 2 remodel project to reassess the contract between the two parties and determine if their services could be helpful as the Town reassess the needs of the community – specifically in terms of office space and community space. More details to come in later weeks.
