LGBTQ+ Pride Month The Council directed Staff to fly the Pride Flag for the month for June in celebration of Pride Month. Art Sculpture - (SPOILER ALERT!!!) Below is a picture of the new art sculpture that will be installed in the round-about of the Town Hall parking lot. The artist, Roger Stoller, can be seen standing next to the piece.

Non-Brown Act Ad Hoc Meetings Town Hall Ad Hoc Committee - May 26, 2022 Mayor Tyson and Councilmember Schmidt met with staff and MIG, Inc. the consultant conducting the Community Facilities Needs Assessment. Legacy Giving Ad Hoc Committee – June 1, 2022
Councilmembers Tankha and Mok will meet with the Los Altos Community Foundation to continue discussions on setting up a legacy giving program in Los Altos Hills.
Sheriff’s Contract Review Subcommittee – June 2, 2022 Vice Mayor Swan and Councilmember Mok will be meeting with Captain Urena to go over the current law enforcement agreement with the Santa Clara County Office of the Sheriff to explore possible areas of improvement.
GreenWaste Ad Hoc Committee – June 2, 2022 Mayor Tyson and Vice Mayor Swan will be meeting with their members of the Ad Hoc Committee to discuss GreenWaste’s comments on possible changes to the contract.

Emergency Operational Area Council (EOAC) MeetingsThe County Office of Emergency Management provides periodic updates on their work on disaster preparedness across the County. Lehigh QuarryThe Santa Clara County's Board of Supervisor’s Housing, Land Use, Environment and Transportation Committee met on May 19th and received a report from staff that includes a compilation of notices of violation issued to Lehigh by 15 different local, state and federal agencies. Water ConservationAs we are in a drought emergency both Purissima Hills Water District and Santa Clara Valley Water offer free water conservation tools. California Water Service offers Conservation Kits. Please visit the website to find more information on how to conserve water. Valley Water also offers a variety of water conservation tips and resources, including tools, rebates, and an online shopping cart where Santa Clara County residents can order free water conservation devises to help save water inside and outside of homes and businesses. Altamont Road Evacuation Route Project Altamont Road represents a significant thoroughfare for the Los Altos Hills. The road is an essential egress in the case of fire. To secure this egress’s integrity, LAHCFD and Santa Clara County Firesafe Council propose a roadside treatment of fuels. Learn more by following the link above.

Public Hearings on Development Projects
Site Development / Fast Track Public Hearing No Site Development/Fast Track Hearing was held this week.
Planning Commission Public HearingNo Planning Commission meeting was held this week.
City Council Public Hearing- On May 25, 2022, City Council held a public hearing to introduce an Ordinance designating the Westwind Community Barn as a Historical Landmark. The City Council approved.
- City Council directed staff to add requirements for construction lighting to Town’s ‘Outdoor Lighting Policy’. Staff will be scheduling this item for discussion with the Planning Commission soon.
Ongoing Projects Status
Housing Element Update Staff is scheduling a Joint Planning Commission and City Council meeting on June 20th, 2022, at 5 pm to discuss housing sites inventory for the Housing. As a stakeholder in the community, we encourage you to participate in this meeting and provide your input/feedback. The meeting details will be shared soon. Please look out for another town mailer coming your way reminding you of this virtual event.
Implementation of Climate Action Plan Staff along with Environmental initiatives Committee (EIC) organized a webinar on May 25, 2022, to answer questions from the vendors who are interested in responding to the RFQ for home electrification assessment. A total of nine (9) vendors participated in the webinar. Responses to the RFQ are due on June 17, 2022, at 4:00 pm. Staff along with EIC met with CSG Consultants on May 27, 2022, to discuss updating Green House Gas (GHG) inventory.

Public Works CIP Projects East Sunset Drive roadway widening – The contractor completed drilling 17 holes for concrete piers on the downslope side of the roadway. The contractor is scheduled to begin drilling the 26 remaining holes on the upslope side of the roadway on 5/31/22. Concrete laggings were delivered to the staging area on 5/25/22. The project schedule to complete in early July 2022.
Town Hall Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations – The underground scope of the Town Hall EV charging stations began on Wednesday, 5/18/22, and completed on 5/27/22. The underground contractor will demobilize equipment on Tuesday, 5/31/22. The next step is for the electrical contractor to mobilize onsite and pull power feed wires from the electrical room to a subpanel, from the subpanel to individual charging stations, terminate the wires, and fire up charging stations. Maintenance Continue construction work for Robleda-La paloma pathway.
Mowing tall grass at O’keefe and Rhus Ridge open spaces, raised low threes and brush on Concepcion Rd.
Weekly maintenance work at Purissima park including mowing, trash pick-up and dragging of arena.
Work was completed on new sign for Byrne Preserve.

Senior Walks are Back Join staff Thursday, May 26th at 9:00am at Town Hall (last Thursday of each month). Each walk is roughly 2 miles and begins at Town Hall, designed for "Seniors." Questions, contract, Chris at 650-927-2506.
Town Picnic - Sunday, June 5 12:30-4:00 pm Registration is open to Los Altos Hills residents only and completed here. This event will include fun for all: DJ, bounce houses, classic car show, lunch, ice cream, magic show, trackless train, petting zoo, pony rides, and 360 photo booth. No pets allowed.

Detective Case Update:- On October 26, 2021, deputies investigated a residential burglary in the Oak Knoll Circle and Stonebrook Drive area of town.
- Through investigation, it was learned the suspect had broken a window to gain entry, subsequently cutting themselves and leaving DNA evidence behind.
- A DNA match was made to a suspect in previous residential burglaries throughout the state, who was also identified as a member of a burglary ring out of South America.
- Earlier this month, the District Attorney’s Office issued arrest warrants for this suspect on burglary charges related to this case.
