Updated Speaking Instructions for Public Comments at 10/6 BOS Meeting RE: LAH Fire District

Please note, it is important for comments to be positive and respectful even if you feel strongly about a particular issue.
Instruction to participate in the Board of Supervisor meeting:
Agenda items 13-18 pertaining to the Los Altos Hills County Fire District (LAHCFD) will be heard no earlier than 1 pm and as close to 1 pm as possible.
The County Counsel will present the staff report which could take anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. Immediately following the presentation, the Board will take public comment. That is when you will have the opportunity to speak. Please be patient as each person will have a minimum of 1 minute to speak. We will send a text message or email when public comment has started. One-minute public comments will be accepted during the meeting
via Zoom. You may join either by phone or on a computer.
To access the Zoom meeting by phone, dial (669) 219-2599 and enter the following meeting ID 94761940886# (a participant ID is not required). To address the Board online

You can either open the meeting in the Zoom app or in your browser (select "the join from browser" option). If you need the Participant ID, it is 94761940886.
You will be asked to enter an email address and name. Please do so. The Clerk of the Board requests that you identify yourself by name as this will be visible online and will be used to notify you that it is your turn to speak.
When the Board President calls for the item on which you wish to speak, click on “raise hand.” "Raise hand" is a small icon of a hand that appears at the bottom of the zoom screen. This is very important; otherwise you will not be called upon to speak.
The Clerk will call on and unmute speakers one at a time. Speakers will be notified shortly before they are called to speak. When it's your turn, the Clerk will call your name and send you a pop-up notification requesting you accept the option to unmute your microphone. Please unmute your microphone and begin speaking.
When done speaking, please click "Lower Hand" Dial-in technical support assistance: If you are having trouble dialing in or using the Zoom link, call Supervisor Simitian’s Office at (408) 299-5050. His staff will be able to aid connect you to the meeting.
