You are invited to a free talk to learn about the latest findings on Sudden Oak Death (SOD) and how citizen scientists are playing a big role. The talk will include the results of 2018 testing showing where SOD infections occur in LAH and will describe new treatment protocols to help protect your oaks from this deadly disease.
Learn the results of this year’s SOD BLITZ, what new discoveries have been made, and how they will influence next year’s Blitz. Dr Garbelotto’s lab at UC Berkeley is pioneering research on the causes of SOD and developing effective solutions for identifying, containing, and preventing this infestation. His lab has trained citizen scientists all over the affected regions of the state to collect specimens according to scientific protocol, map the pathogen, and help contain its spread.
