Committee Chair Roundtable

On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, the Mayor, City Manager, and City Clerk hosted a Committee Chair Roundtable to provide a platform for collaboration and communication with the committees.  To view the notes from the meeting, please click  here. 

Legacy Giving Subcommittee Meeting
Councilmembers Tankha and Mok met for the first time on March 22 to discuss plans to create a Legacy Giving fund for future Town endeavors. The next meeting is scheduled for April.

GreenWaste held their first of three clean up events of the year on March 26. Their report can be found  here.

Planning and Building 


Site Development/Fast Track Public Hearing
March 29, 2022, planning staff held a public hearing to review the following items:
  • A Site Development Permit for landscape screening, a new swimming pool and fencing for a new residence under construction located at 12874 Viscaino Road – File #SD21-0100 – Lands of Firouzdar. The project was approved with conditions.
  •  A Site Development Permit for landscape screening, fencing, and driveway gate for an approved new residence located at 12869 La Cresta Drive – File #SD21-0079 – Lands of Sutardja. The project was not reviewed by the staff committee as the condition of approval for the main residence included that the landscape screening shall be reviewed by the Planning Commission. Thus, the project will be scheduled for Planning Commission’s review.

Engineering
2022 Pavement Rehabilitation and Drainage Improvement Project – began the process of field survey, preparing quantity takeoffs, and developing plans and specifications.

Pathways Projects

Edgerton/Ursula Pathway – made improvements to the pathway, repaired eroded ground, replaced pathway water bars, and re-graded the finish grade.

Saddle Count Pathway – met with residents to determine the pathway alignment

Sent Certified Access Specialist (CASP) report to City of Los Altos for the proposed path work at Redwood Grove Nature Preserve. 


Maintenance Crew

  • Burke Road sinkhole repair – repaired a small area on Burke Road by replacing the entire structural section of the asphalt concrete pavement to eliminate the sink hole.
  • Mowed the saddle court path to show the proposed alignment.

Staff Training

Members of the Town’s Management Team attended their fourth training with ICMA’s 2022 Effective Supervisory Practices. This week's course topic focused on Raising the Bar: Motivating Employees and Customer Service. The training course is spread over a 6 week period and will provide skills for current and future supervisors in managing teams in the public sector.

The staff that conducts work in the field attended a Safety program for Heat Illness Prevention and we updated the Town’s Heat Illness Prevention Program to incorporate all the updates.
  • Received $44,213 in cash receipts and electronic funds transfer (EFT).
  • Processed 79 invoices for a total of $487,870.
The Finance staff participated the interim audit this week with Maze & Associates.

Community Services

Hoppin' Hound Biscuit Hunt - Saturday, April 16 9-10:30 am at Byrne Preserve Advanced Registration is required and benefits Pets in Need Animal Shelter. This on-leash hunt is held in Byrne Preserve, sign up today! 


Earth Day Celebration - Saturday, April 24 1-4 pm at Westwind Community Barn. Open Space, Environmental Initiatives, and Environmental Design and Protection Committees will host tables at the event along with other outside agencies. 

Pathways Run/Walk - Saturday, May 7 9am at Westwind Community Barn

License Plate Reader (ALPR) News
  • On March 24, 2022, at approximately 8:46 PM, deputies received an LPR hit on a stolen license plate on Old Page Mill Road.
  • Deputies checked the area and found multiple bags containing personal property on the ground near the LPR camera.
  • Deputies contacted the owner of the property who relayed they had just been the victim of an auto burglary in Burlingame.
  • All stolen property was returned to the owner.
