Community Survey Subcommittee The subcommittee made up of, Mayor Tyson and Councilmember Schmidt met on April 7th to discuss the results of the Community Wide Survey results. GreenWaste AdHoc Committee The AdHoc Committee made up of Mayor Tyson and Councilmember Swan met on April 8th along with three members of the community identified by the Committee to help in reviewing the existing franchise agreement to seek clarification and discuss potential amendments.

Regional UpdatesLAFCO meeting of 04/06 – Discussion of County Wide Fire Service On April 6 LAFCO discussed the informal competitive procurement process for obtaining professional services to prepare a countywide fire service review and background on termination of previous contract. Additional information here. Emergency Preparedness FairLos Altos Hills County Fire District (LAHCFD) is hosting an Emergency Prep Fair scheduled for Saturday, April 30 from 10am -1 pm, at Town Hall.
Update on Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS) in Santa Clara County PG&E is expanding Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS) to all powerlines in and around high fire-risk areas, including lines in portions of Santa Clara County. A map is linked here.

Public Works EngineeringCompleted a Transportations Consultant agreement with Hexagon Transportations to complete a traffic speed study, this includes review of accident data provided by Santa Clara Sheriff department

CIP Projects East Sunset Drive Roadway Widening Project. Received tentative construction schedule and reviewing material submittals, project schedule to start on May 9.
2022 Pavement Rehabilitation and Drainage Improvement Project. Performing field survey, quantity takeoff, and preparing plans and specifications. Project schedule is typically awarded in July, and construction from September to November. Finished field survey today and moving to estimating and planning phase.
Issued NTP for Corp Yard topographic survey, G&K SJ Inc. Initially scheduled for 4/12.
Prop 68: Purissima Park Concession and Community Room improvement Bid package will be released on Monday, April 11.
Sanitary Sewer Sewer CIP Project – Our contractor is finishing up replacing a sewer main at Ortega Drive and St. Francis Road. Next week they will be working at Summit Wood Road replacing a 6inch main with an 8-inch main.
Pathways Projects Robleda La Paloma. Preliminary environmental survey and mitigation performed this week by Live Oak, they conducted a full biological survey of the work area and will be working on the mitigation measures including deconstruction of dusky-footed wood rat nests in or close to the area of work.
Survey re-staking completed Thursday, working out last details for agreement with Basin Resources for the cultural and geological MMRP items.

Met with Pathways committee chair to review the approved segments for FY 2022/23. And visited the proposed alignment for the Matadero Creek path, the path currently has one section of the pathway easement blocked with a chain link fence and locked gate. OtherNatoma Oaks Subdivision project is coming to close. Town of Los Altos Hills is working to close out the contract. Punch List Walk scheduled for 4/13 at 9am.
Obtain quotes for tree assessments for trees at Deerfield, Chardonnay, and Page Mill. Maintenance Crew
- Ongoing pathways and ROW maintenance, this week's work includes Weed/Brush abatement, brushing overgrown trees and bushes on Stutz Pathway.
- Facilities maintenance and repair include the installation of a new drinking water fountain at the Town Hall, the new fountain will allow staff and visitors the ability to fill their water bottles with filtered water and reduce the amount of purchased bottled water. Also, staff is working to reconfigure parking lots to allow the addition of an Electric Vehicle charging station for the ADA stalls.

Finance, Human Resources, IT ServicesStaff TrainingMembers of Management Team attended their fifth training session with ICMA’s 2022 Effective Supervisory Practices. This week’s focus was on Hiring and Onboarding, Fostering Accountability, and Evaluating Performance.After three years, the City Clerk attended an in-person conference which focused on how to manage hybrid meetings and received information in order to prepare for the upcoming municipal election
At this week’s FIC committee meeting, staff presented the methodology of the Overhead Allocation and Cathy MacLeod, actuary, presented the Biennial Other Post Employment Benefit Plan Report for Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2021.
The City Manager taught a Bootcamp challenge to help keep the staff motivated down the home stretch of completing our Wellness program.- Received $346,932 in cash receipts and electronic funds transfer (EFT).
- Processed 35 payroll checks with a liability of $89,720.

Hoppin' Hound Biscuit Hunt - Saturday, April 16 9-10:30 am at Byrne Preserve Advanced Registration is required and benefits Pets in Need Animal Shelter. This on-leash hunt is held in Byrne Preserve, sign up today!
Earth Day Celebration - Saturday, April 24 1-4 pm at Westwind Community Barn. Open Space, Environmental Initiatives, and Environmental Design and Protection Committees will host tables at the event along with other outside agencies. Earth Day banners were installed at the sign posts and run into the event.
Pathways Run/Walk - Saturday, May 7 9am at Westwind Community BarnRegistration is now available for the 5K, 10K and 1 Mile Fun Run here. This week the Town Crier published an article about the event. Healthy Communities Workshop On Wednesday, April 6th Parks and Recreation hosted the latest installment of our Spring Healthy Communities Series presented by Santa Clara County Public Health. The workshop shared how our community members can become knowledgeable and supportive advocates for those living with dementia. The video can be accessed here. Spring Break Riding Camps Victoria Dye Equestrian Spring Break Camps are full with 18 campers each week. They begin next week at Westwind Community Barn.
