Los Altos Hills Alert Check Day
A test of the Town's Emergency Alert System is happening tomorrow
The Town of Los Altos Hills is preparing for Alert Check Day on December 13, 2025, as part of our Alerts & Warnings campaign in collaboration with the Emergency Preparedness and Response Committee.
Think of it as giving your phone an “emergency readiness check-up”—no appointment or waiting room required.
At 9:00 AM on December 13th, the Town will send a test message through AlertSCC, followed by a Nixle test at 9:05 AM. These tests help ensure messages reach you when it matters most.
How to Get Ready and Participate in 2 easy steps:
Step 1: ( before December 13th )
Sign Up for AlertSCC and Nixle using this link on the town’s website: https://www.losaltoshills.ca.gov/370/Register-to-Receive-Emergency-Alerts
• Add your mobile number, email, and address
• Confirm your information is current
Step 2: Test Day: December 13th
At 9:00 AM, look for the AlertSCC test.
At 9:05 AM, the Nixle test will follow.
When the alerts go out:
• Check your devices
• You will be prompted to confirm receipt of the AlertSCC message. Nixle does not have a confirmation receipt system embedded in the program.
• If you received both alerts, you’re ready
• If not, update your contact information for both platforms so you are ready for the next test in January.
